Cutting Table

Sherry found a cutting table for her quilting studio (the third bedroom in the house). She showed the table to Sam, and he said, "I can do that."
And he did! The three bottom drawers are half depth with open shelves on the  other side.  The gatelegs fold in for easy storage when the full length top is not needed..

The top drawer goes all the way through to hold the long rulers and other items.

Beautiful red oak.

The slot to the right holds three self-healing cutting mats that cover each section when the table is fully extended.  Folded up, it fits against the wall behind Sam.

EDITED TO ADD PHOTOS AND DIMENSIONS:
Thanks to several sewing and quilting sites which have picked up my dream cutting table which was made by my husband, Sam, the comments have several requests for plans and dimensions. Sam checked his woodshop but did not keep his sketches. So, to the best of my ability with a yard stick, I took dimensions and added them to photos. PLEASE use them as a guideline!!!

The first time Sam and MY cutting table were picked up and shown on Facebook, I made certain to show it to him. I told him that he was famous!! ;-)

  8. The wife, Sherry, here. OH MY! I haven't done anything to either of our blogs in two or three years. I found something similar to this online about 2009/2010. It too was a beautiful piece of furniture and well worth the asking price, but too large for my room. And...I have my very own woodworker! I showed the photos of the piece to hubs. We talked about what I wanted in this as he sketched the pattern. You've seen photos of the results. Thanks to The Sewing Loft for posting a link to this!! Now I want him to build me a Mission-style glass-fronted quilt cabinet so that I can display my quilts...He already has the plans sketched. :D

    1. Thank you so much for this - I'm putting together my sewing/quilting room and there's not going to be a lot of room. Looking for something that's drop leaf, holds my cutting mats and accessories without having to use the dining room table. It can also butt up to the front side of my Sweet Sixteen. Most of all, I'm handy with tools and I think I can make it myself - from one deep East Texas girl to another. Belva Hofmann - bdear0219@att.net

  9. As I mentioned, he sketched the plans himself so there's really no pattern.
Unfortunately, he does not make anything to sell. Besides, I (the wife) am waiting for that quilt cabinet.

  12. Sam checked his shop but did not find any sketches relating to this table. I've measured mine and am working on adding dimensions to a couple of photos. I'm about a third of the way through and hope to add them in the same post as the finished project. Sorry to wait so long. But I'll get it up hopefully this week.
